Where do they come from?
When pursuing a new venture, you need the conviction and belief you can make it happen.
You need the openness and flexibility to listen because the best ideas often other people.
If your conviction is overbearing, you may not leave room for others’ input, and therefore, may be missing out on amazing ideas.
In my experience, the best creators have a lot of conviction for their ideas, and are equally humble and curious about others’ opinions.
People not involved in your venture will identify holes in your plan, resistance you will face, and even supplement your ideas with their own.
When others provide feedback, they automatically become invested in your venture. If you can get their input once, you are likely to get it again.
There is more we don’t know than we do know. We grow by listening.
The power of listening is one of life’s greatest skills. When you speak, you already know what you are going to say, but when you listen, you have the opportunity to learn and that’s where the best ideas come from.
