Today, it’s an honor to announce we’ve decided to team up with our good friends over at Winston House on their annual SAMJAM festival in Venice on July 1st.
Our artists Gallant, Emmit Fenn, and a surprise TBA will join Young and the Giant on the SAMJAM bill to perform for 5000 people in Venice with 100% of the proceeds going to Inner-City Arts, an incredible organization which has helped bring artistic training to over 200,000 kids in LA over the past few decades.
We’re bringing together you – our friends and family – before and after the event itself to meet up at Winston House for free drinks. This is going to be an amazing group! Feel free to reach out for details.
Winston House’s mission is to empower artists and bring people together through music. Our companies share a lot of the same values – I respect the founder, Corey McGuire, for his actions in making a difference in his community.
On behalf of TH3RD BRAIN, we’re looking forward to throwing an awesome block party together and raise money for such a worthy cause.
Here’s more information from Corey himself about the event and the origination of the anomaly that is the Winston House –
During the summer of 2015, I opened up my house to a group of young creatives who were new to Venice, CA. They had moved from Oregon to pursue music and needed a place to crash.
Having recently moved from the Pacific Northwest myself, I was familiar with showing up in a city not knowing anybody and wanted to help.
“Helping” started with giving couches, food & advice. Soon it turned into hosting weekly shows where they could share their music and meet like-minded people.
In February 2016, we made a logo and called ourselves WINSTON HOUSE, named after my childhood dog.
It’s been a privilege to host weekly shows at WINSTON HOUSE the past couple years. Through those shows, we’ve built an amazing community in Venice and have successfully brought music to our little neighborhood.
WINSTON HOUSE is doing all sorts of new things now, but ultimately it always comes back to helping artists and bringing people together through music.
SAMJAM is our way of making the house bigger and inviting more people into the family. It is really a natural progression for us. We’ve built up such a loyal following in Venice and there are so many people here who love music and the arts but feel like they have nothing to do.
