When it comes to your values, it’s a lot easier to be 100% in them, then it is to be 98%.

When faced with a situation that tests your values, if you tell yourself you’re just going to do it “this way” once, you are giving your identity permission to be comfortable doing it “this way” again in the future.

I am not talking about habits. We are not robots. Daily habits are like building links in a chain… The chain can break and start again at any time.

I am talking about values.┬áIt’s easier to be absolute then it is to make an exception only once.

So the next time you are thinking about choosing to slip up, ask yourself if you’re willing to do it more than once because if you do slip, you’re more likely to slip again than if you choose to be 100% in your conviction of what you stand for.
