Out of the five Kanye-associated albums released in the past month and a half, this is my favorite track.
Kanye has a knack for ignoring arrangement standards and occasionally creating songs with so many twists and turns they entertain for double or triple the length of a normal track.
Blame Game is another great example of it. In fact, there was not a single song under four minutes and 15 seconds on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, except the interludes.
Kanye’s commitment to originality elevates him – He has an uncanny ability seamlessly incorporate elements from past generations or other genres into his music. He effortlessly switches his style up and remains authentic to who he is.
He, Cudi, and Nas were completely different than any other artist when they came out, which enabled their careers to propel quickly and always stay relevant with their fanbase.
