I love the end of the year.
It’s a break from the workplace and an opportunity to spend quality time with family.
It’s also down time I use diligently to review the end of the year and plan the next one.
One of my colleagues recently reminded me of my love for Chris Thile and all of his various bluegrass band projects (Nickel Creek, Punch Brothers, etc.).
Before I was old enough to drive to high school, my friend’s brother used to blast “Green and Gray” every morning, and seeing Nickel Creek perform Britney Spears’ “Toxic” at Lollapalooza in 2006 was a memory I will never forget.
Back in 2001, Chris released an instrumental solo album titled Not All Those Who Wander are Lost. It’s some of my favorite background music to work to, but also has a holiday pep all can enjoy through the speakers.
The first song on the album, “Song for a Young Queen”, is truly one of my all-time favorite instrumental tracks.
