The new year is time for a fresh start.

Turning points give us the opportunity to evaluate ourselves… Often leading to major changes in our careers or personal lives.

But what if the change you need is much smaller than you think? What if one habit… or even just one simple thought could be the difference in feeling successful… Or even happy?

Back during Thanksgiving, I went to my aunt Pam’s yoga class.

She began with a story of her friend who was exuding uncharacteristically infectious energy one evening… What was the turning point for her friend?

She had recently undertaken a new way of thinking… When a negative thought came up, she was avidly pushing forward to the next good thought.

We as humans have between 12,000 and 60,000 thoughts per day… And on average, 80% of them are negative.

Imagine if you could take a few of those negative thoughts and turn them into positive ones… How would your day change? What type of person could you become?

The simple habit of when a negative thought arises, keep moving onto the next good thought can be a powerful mechanism to becoming more patient, tolerant, and compassionate. Three things I need to work on this 🙂 which is why my intention for 2020 is to keep moving forward to the next good thought.
